![]() ![]() ![]() (I think you can still buy it.) Its a great program (has some issues, but still probably) one of the best bits of DAM software out there. Lightroom - I been using it for months now, have read Kelby's book on it and still discover new features every day. Lightroom, I loved it from Beta and now am considering if I actually need to buy Photoshop CS3 or not (I'm thinking the answer is probably no.) Lightroom! I hated it at first, a friend forced me to use it, and well now I do 90%of my work in it. I used this method because I switch between Linux, Windows, Xbox and also end up accessing my private library over FTP when away from home, so no one piece of software is going to work for me plus most of their databases get a little large. "Christchurch", "Model Railway", "Tank Museum" and "Nudist beach". ![]() " Caravan Holiday" could contain sub folders like. If I do more than one subject, I'll create a separate folder for each focus, eg. and most of the time my tags come down to what I have in the folder title anyway. Tried a few others and they either choke, or take too long to index what I've currently got. I'm just organising by folders with date " Tank Museum" for example. At least it's what I use to write IPTC info and cull my shots. IMatch always wants me to put the DVD in the same drive I used to write it. I prefer Thumbs Plus for its off computer archiving, especially its ability to use any DVD drive on the computer. Lightroom wins at the moment because of it can show me my RAW files with adjustments but loses on its archiving. ![]() I started with Thumbs Plus on version 5, stayed with it to 7, switched to IMatch because of the categories and more efficient keywording and now use Lightroom. I used apature, but found it ate my memory too much for my liking, so ive swithced to light room, though i wish it had a better way of physical sorting my images like a library of some sort. So, what's everyone using to organize your photos? ![]()
